The Unsung Real Heroes

The Unsung Real Heroes

When all the news coverage of today's Michaung cyclone in Chennai and Periphery keep you occupied throughout the day, those there in Chennai are in constant adrenaline surge.
Sitting inside the home with no electricity supply and the constant sound of pitter patter rain, the whistling wind and the counter sounds of the metal roofs, swaying trees amidst the meteorological warnings in news feeds in your mobile phone and the calls from your nears and dears asking you to stay safe indoors is really a challenging task.
Those whose home are flooded, wondering where to go and uncertain of their next meal. Those away from home trying to reach home with no modes of transport available except the Nataraja service! Just imagine having water all around and not a drop to drink. Moreover those in need of medical care not able to reach hospitals and those pregnant women due for their delivery!

But amidst this there are people who are risking their lives like corporation workers who are constantly involved in draining the floods and removing the fallen trees, the EB employees involved in restoring electricity supply, the milk vendors, the few government buses available for transport, the control room employees hearing the cries and hues and extending helping hands, those networking through social media and extending help to the needy and supplying essentials ( Reaching out to the unreachables), the health care workers and also those media persons involved in news gathering to win the race of breaking news. Have you ever wondered how the family members would be worried when they send off these people to work knowing the risk of going out inspite of the warning to stay indoors? The above mentioned are the real world heroes to whom we owe much!

This post is especially for those who live in the fantasy world believing all the stunts and scenes shown in social media and movies and worshipping and talking high of the reel heroes.

Me sitting down south enjoying the cyclone and flood memes, going through various weather forecast posts and pittying on seeing the breaking news. Also worried of the aftermath health hazards !!

Awaiting and praying for the rain to stop and expecting a speedy restoration of normal hustle and bustle routine of chenniates!
Take care Chennai guys!
